Une petite histoire  …
Ces derniers temps, nous nous sommes retrouvés confrontés à un public enfantin
composé d’écoliers & collégiens, grosso modo de 10 à 15 ans,
avec la mission de faire de la pédagogie !

J'avoue humblement que ce n’est pas ma spécialité (euphémisme),
mais, à y aller, autant le faire dans la joie et la bonne humeur.
N’ayant que très peu de prétentions théâtrales et quasi aucune compétence musicale,
je m’y pointe avec ma caisse à outils pour leur causer de quincaillerie modeste.

Il y a un assemblage qui m’amuse par sa simplicité et son efficacité, c’est le boulon.
Donc, je fais mon explication avec du lourdingue bien visible :

vis M32 X 160 avec écrou et clé plate mixte 46 – 50, marque FACOM®,
toutes les dimensions sont, évidemment, en millimètres.



alors, je dévisse, je sépare et je pose la question :


qu’est-ce que c’est ?

réponse : un écrou !


qu’est-ce que c’est ?

réponse : une vis !


et là, les deux ensembles, comment ça s’appelle ?

réponse : un boulon !


Mais de temps en temps, je tombe sur un poète qui,
naïvement et merveilleusement, m’assure que c’est
un écrouvisse !

et je trouve cela plutôt joli !

Here is a little story...
Lately, we found ourselves face to face with a young public,
composed of junior high school students from 10 to 15 years old,
undertaking the mission of teaching them...Damn!
I have to admit that it's not my specialty
but I decided to do it at least with good humour and joy.
I didn't have on mind to lead a theatrical neither a musical workshop,
so I pointed out my toolbox to talk to them about the art of DIY.
There is an assembly that I like a lot for its simplicity and its effectiveness;
its the bolt.
Take a look at my clumsy explanation:

all the dimensions are in millimetres


so, I detach it, I separate it and I ask the following question


"What is this?"

answer: un écrou ! (i.e a nut in french)



What is this?

answer: une vis ! (i.e a screw in french)


And what do we get if we put them together?

answer: un boulon! (i.e a bolt in french)
But...some times, I come across a poet who naively and amazingly
assures me that it is

un  écrouvisse (i.e the crawfish in french) * , something that I found rather cute!

* a french pun with the words écrou and vis that give us the word ecrouvisse instead of the real name of the crawfish that in french it-s écrevisse.
